Biden administration remains silent on communication with family of Maryland mother killed by illegal immigrant

news-20062024-112821

The Biden administration has not revealed whether it plans to contact the family of Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother of five who was allegedly raped and murdered by an illegal immigrant. According to Randolph Rice, an attorney representing the Morin family, Patty Morin, Rachel’s mother, has not been contacted by any Biden administration officials. Although Fox News Digital contacted the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the White House to inquire whether they intended to contact the Morin family, no response was provided.

In a statement, a DHS spokesperson said he could not comment publicly on an ongoing criminal investigation, but stressed that anyone who commits such a horrific crime should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The White House expressed its condolences to Rachel Morin’s family but did not specify what steps it would take to secure the border.

Former President Trump reportedly contacted Patty Morin, expressing his condolences and showing genuine concern for her family. This gesture was deeply appreciated by Patty Morin, bringing her comfort during a difficult time.

Rachel Morin, 37, was reported missing in August after going out for a run and never returned. His body was found the next day on a trail. The suspect, Victor Martinez Hernández, an illegal migrant, was arrested for rape and first-degree murder. Hernandez, who has resided in the United States since February 2023, was apprehended at a bar in Tulsa. His DNA was linked to a previous home invasion in Los Angeles, indicating that Rachel Morin may not have been his first victim.

Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler expressed concern that Hernandez fled illegally to the United States after committing a murder in El Salvador. Hernandez is expected to be extradited to Maryland to face charges related to the murder of Rachel Morin.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office posted signs at the heads of Ma & Pa Trail announcing Hernandez’s arrest, bringing closure to the community. Hernandez will be taken to the Harford County Detention Center upon his arrival in Maryland.

The tragic death of Rachel Morin at the hands of an illegal immigrant has sparked outrage and concern about border security and community safety. The Biden administration’s lack of communication with the Morin family has raised questions about their response to such incidents. As the case progresses, the family and community are demanding justice for Rachel Morin and others who may have been victims of similar crimes.
