Mekhi Phifer and Sandra Mae Frank Join Joel Kinnaman and Mark Strong in AGC Studios and Meridian Pictures Action Thriller

Sandra Mae Frank and Mekhi Phifer have signed on to star alongside Joel Kinnaman and Mark Strong in the action thriller. The silent hour.

Production on the film is expected to begin in late February and will be filmed in Malta and Toronto. Brad Anderson (The machinist) will be produced from an original screenplay by Dan Hall. Meridian Pictures’ Eric Paquette will produce the Boston-set crime thriller with AGC, which is also financing the picture.

In the picture, Kinnaman plays a Boston police detective who suffers a work accident that leaves him hard of hearing. Sixteen months later, he and his friend and partner (Strong) must confront Lynch (Phifer) and a team of corrupt cops who are trying to eliminate a deaf murder witness (Frank) in the apartment building where she lives.

Sandra Mae Frank, who currently stars in the NBC medical series New Amsterdamwill play “Ava”, a recovering drug addict determined to turn her life around, who is embarrassed when she accidentally photographs a murder that puts her in the crosshairs of the perpetrators and those who seek to protect them.

Mekhi Phifer, who is best known for 8 milesApple+ The truth be toldand the Divergent franchise, will play the role of “Lynch”, a former special forces soldier turned corrupt cop who is determined to silence the murder witness and the cop who protects her.

The deal was negotiated by Katie McGrath of KMR & Associates on behalf of Frank; by Gersh and Brookside Artist Management on behalf of Phifer; and by Senior Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs Anant Tamirisa on behalf of AGC Studios.

Frank is repped by KMR & Associates and Phifer is repped by Gersh and Brookside Artist Management.
