Evacuation Levels Lowered to Level 1 (Be Prepared) for Canyon Fire Number 2

WENATCHEE, Wash. — All evacuation levels have been lowered to Level 1 (Be Prepared).

According to Chelan County Emergency Management, firefighters were able to extinguish the Number 2 Canyon Fire.

The Red Cross opens a shelter for evacuees in Wenatchee.

According to Chelan County Emergency Management, the Red Cross will have a shelter ready at 7 p.m. at Sage Hills Church, 1601 5th Street.

The Washington DNR is responding to the ongoing fire near Wenatchee.

According to a tweet from Washington State DNR Wildfire, the fire burned nearly 100 acres four miles west of Wenatchee. The DNR is assisting Chelan County fire crews.

A Level 3 Evacuation Alert (effective immediately) has been issued for parts of Chelan County due to a fire on Number 2 Canyon Road in Wenatchee.

Level 3 alerts mean leave now and fires are an immediate danger. The evacuation plan is attached below.
