The first cancellation of Glastonbur 2024 comes as the festival announces that Groove Armada’s Thursday night set will no longer take place.

Soon, more than 200,000 people will come to Worthy Farm to see Shania Twain, Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Sza take the stage.

Artists hit back at those who complained about the lineup, with a “don’t go then” from a rising star.

Despite complaints, huge crowds are expected at the Pyramid Stage and at the hundreds of stages and bars at this massive city-sized festival.

However, Glastonbury organizers were forced to cancel a major dance artist’s concert due to overcrowding concerns.

Posted on can now not take place.

The duo, made up of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, are best known for their song I See You Baby – later remixed by fellow Glasto star Fatboy Slim.

“Instead, we encourage you to attend their sets at the larger capacity Glade on Sundays at 8:30 p.m. and B2B with Eats Everything at Levels on Saturdays at 6 p.m.,” the official announcement continues.

‘Thank you for understanding.’

With I See You Baby, Groove Armada enjoyed chart success with At the River and Superstylin’, with four of their albums reaching the top 50.

They took the charts by storm in the 2000s, landing multiple Brit, Grammy and Music Video Award nominations.

Groove Armada has not released its own statement on the cancellation but will take the Glade stage Sunday at 8:30 p.m.

The iconic Stonebridge Bar hosts small concerts, usually DJ sets, and this year Idris Elba will perform on Saturday evening (or rather Sunday morning).

In another – rather unusual – announcement, BBC News analysis editor Ross Atkins will also take over.

The I See You Baby hitmakers have performed at Glasto five times since 1999, with the last being in 2022 on the Arcadia Stage.
