Liam Gallagher posts message after opening night at Co-op Live in Manchester

Liam Gallagher said the atmosphere at his first comeback show at the Co-op Live Arena was “biblical” in a message to his fans.

The former Oasis frontman shared a post on X today (Sunday) after performing in front of thousands of fans at the venue last night. He said they “absolutely broke him” during the first of four shows on his Definitely Maybe tour.

Last night’s show was the first at Co-op Live to celebrate Oasis’ Definitely Maybe on its 30th anniversary. Liam told fans he intended to “put this place on the map” as he took to the stage.

He told the audience he approved of the new venue as he performed some of Oasis’ biggest anthems like Live Forever, Slide Away and Supersonic. Support came from Liam’s son Gene Gallagher, his band Villanelle, as well as Liverpool indie legends Cast.

Addressing the MEN Earlier this year, Liam said he was looking forward to playing at Manchester’s brand new venue. He said: “I’m impressed, it looks good. I’m in it, man.”

With typical Liam swagger, he added: “Big gigs are easy – I get more nervous at smaller gigs, you know.”

The star will perform again at Co-op Live on June 16, 27 and 28.
