GH recording problem 06/27 – General Hospital

Did anyone else have a problem with their registration today? I got a message saying
“We apologize for the inconvenience, this program has been removed in accordance with the FCC’s non-duplication rules” This is new to me. Cable company is no help

Wow! I’ve never heard of that. What cable company do you have? I’m watching my recording right now.

Ghost, I’ve never seen it before. They tried to blame the FCC, citing “FCC reinstates no radio duplication rule for commercial FM stations”, but that makes no sense.

I just did a little research…I don’t have a solution, but I can tell you what it means. Notification requirements. The network non-duplication and syndicated exclusivity rules require that, after proper notice to a station, a cable operator must delete duplicate programming in a community that is within a station’s protected area. A broadcaster’s failure to comply with the FCC’s notification requirements may result in the loss of its network non-duplication rights or syndicated exclusivity rights.

Scope of protection. Typically, a broadcast station’s protected area extends 35 miles from the station’s community of license reference point. For purposes of network non-duplication, smaller market stations receive an additional 20-mile secondary zone, for a total of 55 miles from the reference point.

So my point is that Spectrum has lost its right to carry your local ABC channel.

That makes sense, I get 2 ABC stations. Thanks, I’ll try the other station tomorrow

I would watch ABC dot com or Hulu. Today is a great day.

Oh, I plan to! I just got ticked off when my GH program was canceled without a good explanation.
