Lawmakers may consider overriding Gov. McKee’s vetoes

During the final days of the legislative session, Governor McKee vetoed several bills.

Kratom, a plant that proponents say helps people recover from things like opioid addiction, would have been legalized.

Opponents say the practice has not been adequately studied and is addictive.

Other bills canceled by the governor include one that would ban non-compete clauses for state employees.

Three others would have created advisory committees on issues the governor says are already covered by state law.
