Israeli Army Announces Death of Soldiers Yair Avitan and Yakir Shmuel Tatelbaum

Master Sergeant Yair Avitan and Sergeant Major (reservist) Yakir Shmuel Tatelbaum were killed in combat in the Gaza Strip on Friday, the Israeli army announced Saturday evening.

Avitan, 20, from Ra’anana, served in the 890th Battalion of the Parachute Brigade. The staff sergeant fell in action at Shejaia.

Tatelbaum, 21, from Ma’ale Adumim, was serving in the 77th Battalion of the 7th Brigade.

Tatelbaum fell north of Gaza

The sergeant major (reserve) was killed during fighting in northern Gaza.

Both families have been notified.
