T20 World Cup: PM Modi’s special message for Team India after victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian cricket team after winning the T20 World Cup on Saturday.

Notably, India beat South Africa by seven runs and won the 2024 T20 World Cup at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

“CHAMPIONS! Our team is bringing the T20 World Cup home in STYLE! We are proud of the Indian cricket team. This match was HISTORICAL,” he said in a post on X, along with a congratulatory video message for the team.

President Draupadi Murmu also issued a congratulatory message for India on X.

She said in the message, “My heartiest congratulations to the Indian team for winning the T20 World Cup. With a spirit of perseverance, the team overcame difficult situations and displayed exceptional skills throughout the tournament. It was an extraordinary victory in the final match. Well done, Team India! We are proud of you!”

Vice President Jadgeep Dhankar said in his message that the country “is delighted with the spectacular victory” of the Indian team.

He said in a post on X: “Bharat is delighted with the spectacular victory of the Men in Blue in the #T20WorldCup2024! The extraordinary performance of the Indian team throughout the tournament is a testament to their dedication and hard work. May they continue to bring glory to the nation. My heartiest congratulations!”

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also congratulated the Indian cricket team and said it was a “splendid team effort”.

“With every heartbeat, 1.4 billion Indians are celebrating this great victory! The nation is beaming with pride,” he added in a message on X.

Leader of Opposition and Raebareli MP Rahul Gandhi said in a post on Brilliant catch! Rohit, this victory is a testimony to your leadership, Rahul, I know the Indian team will miss your guidance. The spectacular Men in Blue have made our country proud.
