Manchester City considering £100m double transfer for Bayern Munich star desperate to join Spain and Euro 2024 ace

JOSHUA KIMMICH is keen on a second stint under Pep Guardiola – even though his former manager could pack his bags in 12 months.

Kimmich, a key figure in Germany’s assault on the Euros, has one year left on his contract with Bayern Munich and is on the target list of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool.

But Manchester City boss Guardiola is also interested… and the chance to reconnect with the manager who gave him his big break at Bayern in 2015 is drawing him to the Etihad.

Kimmich’s camp wants to know if Pep is considering signing a contract to stay beyond next summer, but the player is so determined to play under him again that he is willing to take the chance.

Although Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is happy for him to stay, they would rather let him go now for around £40million than lose him for free for 12 months.

Kimmich, 29, is also keen to play more in midfield rather than right-back, where he has spent most of his career – particularly with Kyle Walker occupying that spot at the Etihad.

He believes the fact Guardiola has always pushed defensive players to play a leading role, as he did with Joao Cancelo, makes that option more likely in Manchester.

And in the manager’s eyes, Kimmich’s versatility to provide quality in the engine room as well as real competition to Walker is a huge plus.

Real and Barca have been in contact with Bayern bosses, but Kimmich – who is demanding around £200,000-a-week – is said to favor the Premier League.

Meanwhile, City are still considering a return offer for Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, 26, who was on their wishlist 12 months ago.

Olmo, currently playing for Spain at the Euros, has a £60 million release clause which remains active until July 15.

City have a good relationship with Leipzig after signing Josko Gvardiol last year.

And the fact that Olmo would represent almost half of the fee Newcastle would want for Bruno Guimaraes makes him more attractive.
