EMMERDALE fans were shocked when one star revealed his surprise return.

Viewers of the long-running ITV soap are bracing for the character’s return after she confirmed the news on social media.

Lisa Riley appears to have leaked that Paula Lane is back filming in the Yorkshire Dales.

The Mandy Dingle star took to Instagram to share a snap with pal Paula while filming on set.

She said: “DOUBLE TROUBLE in @emmerdale village today.”

Paula – who previously played Kylie Platt in Coronation Street – made her Emmerdale debut earlier this year as Ella Forster.

A few months after her arrival, it was finally revealed that she was hiding the fact that she was using a fake name after killing a childhood friend when she was just 11 years old.

However, Ella disappeared from screens and Emmerdale fans assumed she was gone for good.

Reacting to her seemingly imminent return, one fan said: “Lisa, are you allowed to do this because we all think Paula has left the village, spoiler alerts xx.”

A second wrote: “Glad to see you still on the show.”

“Glad to see you’re coming back to the village,” said a third.

While a fourth commented: “Oh is she coming back?”
