Since then, in every game he has played, he has been mocked and ridiculed to the point that fans of each team directed harsh and negative remarks at him and booed him when he entered the field to play. But Hardik kept his attitude and caught his breath. Hardik was made the vice-captain of the T20i team and he played exceptionally well.

During the T20i match with the clash against South Africa, Hardik Pandya was seen in tears as he bowled the last over of the match.

Despite being mercilessly trolled in the Indian Premier League, on the personal and professional front, he did the unthinkable and caught Heinrich Klaasen who gave away nearly 20 runs in one over. It was necessary to take the crucial wicket of Klaasen for India to win.

South Africa were very much in the match until the 17th over during their 176-run chase when Jasprit Bumrah scored a match save and took the crucial wicket of Marco Jansen. However, the highlight of the match was the final over, bowled by Hardik Pandya. South Africa needed 16 runs, but the Indian team won by 7 runs.

As soon as India won, Hardik broke down. An emotional India star all-rounder Hardik Pandya opened up on the tough six months leading up to the winning moment when he had remained silent.

During the post-presentation, Hardik reflected on the previous six months and revealed that he never once got angry when things were going wrong, which was precisely why victory seemed all the more significant. Mumbai Indians (MI) supporters and social media trolls took to various social media platforms and apologized to him for his harsh behavior.

Rohit Sharma hugged Hardik Pandya after his T20 World Cup victory as the all-rounder lamented an “unfair” six months.

Hardik Pandya said in his post-match presentation, “It means a lot. Very emotional, we worked really hard and something was wrong. But today we got what the whole nation wanted. What’s more special for me is the way my last game went. It’s been 6 months, I haven’t said a word, and things have been unfair. I knew if I kept working hard, I could shine and do what I could do. To get an opportunity like this makes it even more special. It was just about executing our plans, staying calm and letting the pressure wash over them.”

He added: “I believe in grace. A lot of things have been said by people who don’t even know me 100% as a person. People have spoken, no problem, but I have always believed in life that you never answer with words, that circumstances can answer. It’s time for fans and everyone to learn that (to be graceful). We have to find better ways to behave. I am sure the same people will be happy.”

“To be honest, I enjoyed it. Very few people get these life-changing opportunities. It could have gone the other way today, but I see the glass half full and not the glass half empty. Thanks to Jassi (Bumrah) and others “I knew it wouldn’t help me if I wasn’t calm, I wanted to commit 100% to every ball I played. I always enjoyed pressure,” Pandya said.

“I was under no pressure and focused on my skills. It was a moment written in the stars,” he said.

To all-rounder head coach Rahul Dravid

“He was a wonderful man, I really enjoyed working with him, and to say goodbye to him like that is wonderful, I had a great relationship with him and became friends. I am very happy for all the support staff,” he added.
