Pontus Almqvist offered to Roma: Giallorossi is interested

Pontus Almqvist is the latest name to be linked with Roma ahead of this year’s summer transfer window.

The Swedish winger recently completed his loan move to Lecce with 3 goals and 3 assists to his name.

Facing an imminent return to Russia, Almqvist hopes to stay in Italy and part ways with Rostov, his parent club.

According to La Gazzetta dello SportAlmqvist’s agents have offered him to Roma in recent days.

The Giallorossi appear interested in the 24-year-old and, along with Fiorentina, have made further inquiries into the player’s availability for next season.

With Rostov, the Swedish winger has a contract valid for another year, until 2025, but due to the war situation and the ad hoc rules envisaged by UEFA, he can leave on a free loan even a year before the deadline.

In terms of characteristics, the newspaper writes, he has a bit of everything that Daniele De Rossi looks for in his attacking wingers: he is fast, he dribbles, he likes to play one-on-one but also to come back and seek dialogue with the attacker or a shot on goal.
