Monthly Message Mayor Cameron Smyth 4th of July Celebrations in Santa Clarita!

Every year, the Fourth of July fills Santa Clarita with parades, professional fireworks, steamy barbecues, and joyful gatherings with family and friends. Residents look forward to dressing in patriotic colors and decorating their homes to celebrate our nation’s independence. Embrace the spirit of community and country by joining us in the many celebrations happening throughout the city of Santa Clarita.
Start your day with the Independence Day Classic 5k and 10k, hosted by the Santa Clarita Runners. The 10K race starts at 7:00 a.m., guiding runners along a fast, flat, paved course on the South Fork Trail, where they can enjoy beautiful views of the city. The 5K race starts at 8:00 a.m. and winds through the Santa Clarita City Parade route, with one of the best cheering sections in Southern California. In addition to the 5k and 10k, there will also be a children’s run and a senior walk, ensuring fun for all. To register for one of the races, visit www.scrunners.org.
At 9:00 a.m., Santa Clarita’s spectacular 4th of July Parade takes over Old Town Newhall. Join the community as the streets come alive with colorful floats and lively entrances from local groups. This year’s theme, Freedom to Play, celebrating our parks, trails and open spaces, promises to showcase creative and inspiring displays from our community.
As the sun sets, gather around downtown Valencia for a spectacular fireworks display. Grab your lawn chairs and find a comfortable spot for you and your loved one to enjoy the show. Listen to KHTS AM 1220 for a live soundtrack that perfectly complements the dazzling bursts of color that light up the night sky. Make this 4th of July a day to remember and celebrate it with your community!
