BJP trains arms at Mamata’s party following mob attacks in Bengal

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday came down hard on the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal over the growing spate of mob attacks in the state.

“TMC stands for Talibani Mindset and Culture. The entire country is shocked after seeing the brutal video of a Taliban-style judgment being delivered in broad daylight on the streets of Bengal,” Poonawalla told the news agency. ANIcommenting on the incident of a woman being beaten in broad daylight in Chopra area of Uttar Dinajpur district.

Attacking the ruling party in the state for the violence, Poonawalla said, “The person who did this is said to be a close aide and close person of the TMC MP there. Instead of coming down hard on this shocking video, the TMC MP actually defended it by saying that the woman in question who was being beaten had a very evil character. »

“He shamed the victim and even went on to say that in a ‘Muslim Rashtra’ there were certain terms and conditions, thus justifying this kind of barbaric act. What is unfortunate is that those who talk about Manipur, women’s issues are silent today,” he added.

TMC MP Hamidur Rahman, however, had earlier denied any connection with the accused.

The BJP leader then attacked several members of the opposition INDI bloc, saying leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Mahua Moitra, Sagarika Ghose – “the entire INDI Alliance leadership” – were remained silent during Sandeshkhali. incident.

“They were silent when a Muslim woman who supported the BJP was robbed in Coochbehar, they were silent when there was violence after the elections, rapes took place in West Bengal, and they were silent on issues like Swati Maliwal and this kind of kangaroo justice that is being done. This shows that they do not care about women’s issues. They only care about their politically convenient agenda,” Poonawalla charged.

The BJP leader’s comments come in the wake of reports of an escalation in mob attacks in West Bengal: in the last three days, at least three people have died in mob attacks in the state, the last death occurring Monday morning.

Regarding the broad daylight beating incident, police said the accused – Tajmul Haque alias JCB – has been apprehended.
