Two days after winning the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma and co. continue to wait for Team India to leave Barbados

The Indian cricket team’s stars remain stranded at the Barbados airport as all flights are cancelled due to a cyclone. Rohit Sharma and his colleagues, who won the T20 World Cup on Saturday, are yet to leave the Caribbean island as incessant rains have forced a curfew and the closure of the city’s airport. The team is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon their arrival in India.

According to Rev Sportz, Rohit Sharma and his companions were seen eating from paper plates in the queue at the airport while waiting for their departure. Moreover, the report states that the BCCI has made every effort to get the team out of the country once the cyclone is over.

As per Team India’s schedule, they were supposed to leave for New York on Monday at 11 am local time (8:30 pm IST). From there, the Men in Blue are supposed to return home via a connecting flight from Dubai to Mumbai.
