Elon Musk Announces Release Date for JARVIS-Inspired AI xAI Grok 2 Chatbot

After the successful deployment of the Grok AI 1.5 chatbot recently, Elon Musk revealed the launch date of the more advanced Grok 2 on Monday. Grok’s new versions of xAI will be bundled with advanced AI features after the recent launch showed progress in long-term context understanding and advanced reasoning, as well as improved performance on benchmarks such as MATH and HumanEval.

Elon Musk plans to launch Grok 2 and Grok 3

Commenting on cleaning up large datasets of language models for training AI robots, billionaire Elon Musk revealed that xAI’s Grok 2 will be launched in August. He also revealed that Grok 3 will be released by the end of the year.

Musk said training AI chatbots requires datasets and significant work is being done to purge the large language model (LMM) of available data. He hints at several issues with training on OpenAI’s model outputs and a significant improvement to the datasets for the next version of Grok.

“Unfortunately, that’s true. It takes a lot of work to purge LLMs from internet training data. Grok 2, which will be released in August, will be a huge improvement in this regard,” Musk said.

Grok 3 is expected by the end of the year after being trained on 100,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs, Elon Musk revealed. Additionally, Grok 3 will have the potential to surpass current AI benchmarks and truly capture the imagination of AI enthusiasts around the world.
