“Spy Drops,” an MGS-inspired game announced for Switch

Publisher Rainy Frog and developer Rainy Night Creations have announced Spy Drops for Switch. No release date has been announced yet, but you can check out the first trailer for the title below.

Experience the PlayStation generation, low-polygon 3D stealth action updated with modern effects like lighting and shadows, randomly generated levels, modern gear, and head-to-head local multiplayer.

An eco-terrorist organization threatens to plunge the world into digital darkness, erasing all digital records and returning the world to the Stone Age. As a member of the counter-terrorist team Spy Drops, you are tasked with neutralizing the threat, but you soon begin to question the mission’s objectives and uncover a deeper conspiracy.

Dropped behind enemy lines, your covert operations consist of infiltrating infrastructure and undertaking covert operations that include intelligence gathering, planting spy devices, and rescuing prisoners.

Missions are randomly generated, which creates an intense gameplay experience as you never know what’s around the next corner. Everyone’s game will be different.

Explore enemy bases room by room, choosing how to approach each one. You can dodge, hack or shoot cameras, eliminate or kill guards, stick to the mission objective or explore further. Explore the area with a drone first, hide in lockers or even use spongebobs to move more stealthily. Stealth is always rewarded and you will gain more experience by not killing anyone and remaining undetected.

You select what equipment to take on each mission, choosing from a range of items and weapons such as drones, hacking devices, night vision goggles, sniper rifles, tasers, mine detectors and more. New equipment is researched and added as the game progresses.

Accumulate Target Points by extracting information from unconscious guards using the Dreamcatcher. You cannot extract information from corpses, so always avoid killing when possible. Gain experience to improve your stats, including health, stamina, aim accuracy, and luck. Face off against a friend in head-to-head local multiplayer!
