Pastor Greg Laurie, the inspiration behind JESUS ​​REVOLUTION, has been running Harvest Crusades for 34 years and has no plans to stop anytime soon, even now at age 71.

“We’ve seen God change lives over the years in supernatural ways,” he said of why he continues to host these events. “Marriages are healed, addictions are overcome, suicidal people are given hope, the list goes on. But the most important thing for all those who have prayed to ask Jesus to come into their lives on that ground after the invitation or altar call, as it’s sometimes called, is this: Their eternal address has moved from hell to heaven,” he said.

Laurie explained the power of the gospel by quoting Romans 1:16:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

The pastor explained that not sharing the Good News is actually a sin and an act of disobedience to God.

“If we Christians believe in an afterlife, especially heaven and hell, how can we sit there, doing nothing, knowing that we have loved ones who could potentially face a future judgment? asked Laurie. “The Bible says, “It is sin to know what to do and not to do it” (James 4:17). »

That’s why Laurie continues to organize harvest crusades, where thousands of people come to hear the gospel and have the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior. While it takes months of planning and hard work, he believes it’s worth it “because of the power of the gospel.”

Last year, JESUS ​​REVOLUTION profiled Laurie’s early ministry and his involvement in the Jesus Revolution movement that took place in California in the 1960s and 1970s.
