“The hardest decision of my life” – Marc Guiu sends touching message to Barcelona fans

Marc Guiu sent a touching and lengthy message to Barcelona fans after completing his move to Premier League side Chelsea.

The striker chose to say goodbye to the Catalans after the Blues activated a €6 million release clause in his contract.

Barca will be sad to see him go, but Guiu says he will always be a fan.

“Culers, when I started my journey at Barça at just 7 years old, I could not imagine the experiences I would have wearing the Barça shirt. They have been 11 spectacular years, with many goals, triumphs and joys that have made me grow as a person and as a player,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Now it’s my turn to say goodbye. This has been the hardest decision of my life, I know it won’t be easy, like nothing has been in my career, but I think it’s the professional path I had to choose.

“Barça will always be by my side, that feeling will not change no matter what happens. I hope that in the future our paths will meet again and that Barça can win many titles and achieve many successes. From afar, I will celebrate it as one more culer.

“The truth is that I can only have words of thanks for the club that trained me. For this, I would like to thank the entire Barça family, the coaches and coordinators, who have helped me, taught me and supported me so much; to the physiotherapists and doctors, for the attention and the express recoveries; to the staff of La Masia, the educators, the taxi drivers for taking care of me and for transmitting values that I will always carry within me; to the fans who have encouraged me from the first day, thank you all; and also above all to each of my colleagues and friends, for so many smiles and so many games that we have won together, some of them will always be my family. I will support you from a distance. Now and always, long live Barça!”

Good luck to Chelsea, Marc Guiu!
