NDOT Announces Fiscal Year 2025 Surface Transportation Program

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Nebraska Department of Transportation has released its surface transportation program for fiscal year 2025.

The book lists projects in the 2025 state highway program, separated by each NDOT geographic district and by project type scheduled for construction over the next six years.

The 2025 program was announced at $772 million. It is funded by state and federal highway taxes and user fees, and does not include aerospace, broadband or construction related to local systems, according to NDOT.

NDOT said the 2024 state legislature allocated an additional $70 million to help close existing funding gaps. That allocation resulted in an increase from 540 to 805 miles of highway preservation statewide and the expansion of Interstate 275 from Norfolk to Pilger over the next year.

Other projects scheduled to begin in the next year include, but are not limited to, 10 miles of highway replacement between Cozad and Darr, preservation work and construction of Super 2 passing lanes on the Interstate 83 corridor between Norfolk North Platte and McCook and capital improvements to the Lincoln West Beltway.

The Nebraska Surface Transportation Program 2025-2030 and an interactive Geographic Information System map are now available here.
