Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are considering selling their company Imagine Entertainment, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

Imagine has hired investment bank JP Morgan to help shape its strategy, according to the Wall Street Journal. Other reports said Imagine made the move after receiving acquisition or merger offers. Representatives for Imagine could not immediately be reached for comment.

In 2016, Imagine attracted a $100 million investment from US investment bank The Raine Group. In 2022, the company was involved in negotiations with UK investment firm Centricus Asset Management over what was then billed as a $700 million deal, although the talks came to nothing after six months of negotiations.

Founded in 1985, Imagine has a long list of box office and award-winning artists to its credit, including willow, Counter-current, Apollo 13, A beautiful mind, Friday Night Lights, Frost/Nixon And Thirteen Lives.

Recently, the company has also been active in the production of feature-length documentaries, with projects such as The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years, Pavarotti And Rebuilding Paradise.

Imagine’s current projects include a survival thriller Edenwhich was recently sold at the Cannes market by AGC International and is expected to premiere at the Venice festival.

In the works for Amazon MGM Studios, with whom Imagine has a first-look deal, is a thriller After the hunt, with Luca Guadagnino directing and Julia Roberts starring.
