Two-time NBA All-Star breaks silence on joining Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers are the team that has made the most noise this year. As the team prepares to compete for the title with a new big three of Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey, it has recruited other top players in the league.

One of those players is Chicago Bulls backup center Andre Drummond. Shams Charania reported that the Philadelphia 76ers are signing Andre Drummond to a two-year deal worth over $10 million. Immediately after the news, Drummond tweeted a simple but hilarious message.

“I want a Philly Cheesesteak 🫂”

In a very classy gesture, Drummond also took the time to meet with some Chicago Bulls staff and media.

“One of the people I’ve ever met in my life! Chuck, thank you for making me smile after every game, no matter the outcome,” Drummond said of Chicago Bulls radio commentator Chuck Swirsky. “Your energy is contagious. It’s an honor to call you my friend. I love you.”

Last season, Andre Drummond averaged 8.4 points and 9.0 rebounds on 56 percent shooting from the field with the Chicago Bulls. He did all of that in just 17 minutes per game, making him one of the best guards in the NBA. In Philadelphia, he’ll play as Joel Embiid’s backup.
