WestJet said more cancellations will be necessary in the coming days as the airline resumes regular operations, according to a statement Monday.

To do this, WestJet said crews must be transported to airports across the country. This will include picking up crew members who were stranded during the strike, the airline added.

Diederik Pen, WestJet Airlines president and group chief operating officer, said the airline is working around the clock to get all 130 grounded planes back in the air.

“We are pleased to be able to resume operations; however, we are fully aware of the ongoing impact on our customers and sincerely appreciate their patience and understanding,” Pen said.
