Bayern Munich shocked by terms of Michael Olise release clause

Olise has agreed a move to the German giants despite interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United this summer.

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement on personal terms with the winger, and his representatives have also reached an agreement on their fee.

However, the German giants find the mechanism for triggering the release clause in his contract with Crystal Palace more complicated.

Some say the Bavarians were shocked to have to pay a higher amount than expected.

They have now been informed that the initial £43million was only intended to open negotiations with Olise over the transfer.

The final fee will actually be around £50m and Olise and his former club Reading are set to benefit from a reduced transfer fee.

Bayern Munich did not know that a deal would be so expensive and are now trying to negotiate a lower amount.

Crystal Palace remain determined to secure full payment of the initial £43m, with Olise and Reading reportedly taking part of the fee under their agreement.
