As baby boomers continue to move into senior living communities, it will be imperative to create environments that meet all of their needs: physical, mental and emotional. Luckily for the residents of Mirabella at Arizona State University, Lindsey Beagley is on the case.

Beagley, senior director of lifelong academic engagement, joined Mirabella after earning a master’s degree in public administration. She has been instrumental in helping the continuing care retirement community open up and then integrate organically into campus life. Her initiatives – like the Student Artist-in-Residence program, which brings four doctoral-level students to live in the community and develops approximately 400 arts and cultural events each year for and with residents – serve to bridge the generation gap.

Beagley’s leadership at Mirabella has garnered several industry recognitions, including the LeadingAge Arizona Innovation Award in 2022 and 2023, as well as an honorable mention from Mather in its 2022 Promising Practices Awards.

“In her short career in the senior living industry, Lindsey has demonstrated a unique ability to create effective programs, develop and execute successful campaigns, identify and foster unique partnerships, and be a source of thought leadership for project stakeholders and others in the industry,” her colleagues said. “Most importantly, she has had a profound impact on the lives of the seniors she works with. Her contributions come from a rare combination of commitment, passion, curiosity and skill. The industry is fortunate to have a rising star like Lindsey in its ranks.”

  • Beagley is currently a member of the Global Secretariat of the AgeFriendly University, which leads the movement of academic institutions around the world to welcome and include older adult learners and forge intergenerational connections.
  • She was recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal in its 2021 40 Under 40 Awards and by the Greater Phoenix Chamber as a 2022 ATHENA Awards finalist.
  • She is a former U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer (2006-2008), having served in Honduras and Central America.
