Shatrughan Sinha BREAKS SILENCE ON SONAKSHI SINGHA’S HEALTH RUMOURS AND MARRIAGE: ‘I am no longer…’

Veteran actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha has finally responded to rumours surrounding his health after he was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital over the weekend. Sinha denied reports that he fell off a couch and underwent surgery.

Speaking to Times Now/Zoom, he said, “Arrey bhai, mujhe surgery hui aur mujhe khud nahin maloom (If I had undergone surgery, wouldn’t I know?).” When asked the reason for his hospitalisation, Sinha said, “Just for a routine annual check-up of the whole body. I recommend it to everyone above 60. I have been travelling non-stop for my election campaign for the last three months. Then, right after my daughter’s wedding. I am no longer that hot-blooded, energetic young man who could work three shifts a day and still have the energy to party all night. I need to slow down.”

Sinha added that he was happy that his daughter Sonakshi was finally married. “Everything has worked out. Thanks to the Almighty, my daughter is now happily married. As for the detractors who are not happy, I have nothing to say to them,” he added.

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha married her longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in a private ceremony at her Bandra apartment in Mumbai on June 23. After the civil wedding, the newlyweds hosted a grand reception at Bastian, Dadar. The actress faced immense trolling for her interfaith wedding with Zaheer. The newlyweds even turned off comments on their wedding pictures on Instagram to avoid any unwarranted hate on their special occasion.

Earlier reacting to the trolls, Sinha told Times Now: “Every father waits for that moment when his daughter is given away to the groom of his choice. My daughter seems the happiest with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe.”

“44 years ago, Shatrughan Sinha married a very successful, very beautiful and very talented girl of his choice, Poonam Sinha. Now it is Sonakshi’s turn to marry the boy of her choice,” he added.
