Travis Kelce Turned Down Recent Netflix Offer: ‘No More Reality’

Travis Kelce has been busy diversifying its portfolio — but don’t expect that to include more reality TV shows.

After his teammate Patrick Mahomes appeared on Netflix Strategist In 2023, Kelce, 34, was approached to participate in the follow-up series RECIPIENTwhich will premiere on July 10 on the streamer.

“After Pat did it, I got asked about it,” Kelce recently said on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast. “I don’t know. I’d rather just play the game, man. I do enough with the podcast and all that.”

Chiefs tight end and his brother, Jason36, hosts the weekly podcast “New Heights,” which recently closed a deal that could potentially be worth eight figures, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Travis joked, “I’m sick of this reality. I’m out of this shit.”

In 2016, Travis starred in the E! dating reality show The Last of Us. Catch Kelcewhich focused on the football star who found love. Earlier this year, Travis opened up about the experience during an appearance on “The Pivot Podcast,” calling it “extremely awkward.”

Travis gave a nod to his brother Jason’s 2023 Prime Video documentary Kelcewhich chronicled the former Philadelphia Eagles star’s decision to return to play one final season in the NFL. Jason then retired at the end of the 2023 season after 13 years in the league.

“I think he did it the right way,” Travis said.

However, fans shouldn’t expect Travis to follow in his brother’s footsteps in the documentary anytime soon.

“It was really him and I don’t know if I want to do something like that,” Travis said. “I’d rather focus on the ball, baby.”

Since winning his second straight Super Bowl with the Chiefs in February, Travis has managed to focus on few things other than the ball.

Travis has wrapped up his hosting duties on the upcoming Prime Video game show Are you smarter than a celebrity?which he called an “explosion.”

“To be honest, I always wanted to do something with a game show,” Travis told Jason on “New Heights” in May. “I always wanted to be a part of it, whether it was as a contestant, as a helper, or as a host.”

That same month, Travis had a role in the upcoming series Grotesquerieproduced by Ryan Murphy. A source exclusively told We Weekly he had “an incredible time filming.”

RECIPIENT — which features NFL wide receivers Georges Kittle, Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, Deebo Samuel And Amon-Ra Brown Street — will premiere July 10 on Netflix.

Travis, meanwhile, will begin his quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl when the Chiefs open the regular season on Sept. 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.
