Mets DFA Matt Festa to make room for Christian Scott on roster

To make room on the list for Christian Scottwho returns to the rotation Wednesday night, the Mets have designated a reliever Matt Festa for assignment.

Festa made one appearance for the Mets, getting hit hard on June 30.

In 1.0 inning of work against the Houston Astros at Citi Field, he allowed four runs on five hits while walking one and striking out one batter.

The Mets made another move Tuesday in an effort to bolster their decimated bullpen.

Jose Buttowho was a starter for Triple-A Syracuse, was called up to work in relief.

The move paid off immediately, with Butto pitching 2.0 scoreless innings in the Mets’ extra-innings win over the Nationals in Washington, D.C.
