Celebrate Christmas in July at Organ Stop Pizza

It’s hot outside, but it’s cool inside at Organ Stop Pizza: ‘Tis the season to give to the United Food Bank’s Christmas in July Food Drive Challenge through July 31.

It’s Christmas in July again at the valley’s popular Organ Stop Pizzeria.

Christmas in July is the East Valley Restaurant’s annual food drive each summer, which aims to help its neighbor, United Food Bank, stock its shelves, as summer is the toughest time of year for many individuals and families in the Valley and state. With children out of school, parents have the added pressure of providing more food, and extreme temperatures mean higher electric bills, forcing families to make tough decisions like whether to pay those bills or pay for food.

With the help of its customers, Organ Stop Pizza will be able to continue to help community members who struggle to feed themselves during the summer. This grassroots food drive will provide meals to seniors, fewer children will go to bed hungry, and many parents will have less to worry about.

“By dropping off donations to this food drive in July, you can get out of the triple-digit temperatures and into the holiday spirit,” said Linda Guthrie, Director of Organ Stop Pizza. “Our staff always looks forward to this special month where we decorate the Mighty Wurlitzer and the walls with Christmas cheer. So ring your bells to Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa and support a great cause.”

Support the United Food Bank and bring at least two approved “non-perishable” food items, or make a $2 cash donation, through July 31 and receive 10% off your entire kitchen bill that night while enjoying The Mighty Wurlitzer Organ, pizza, pasta, salad and more.

Two lucky guests each night will win a free stocking filled with Organ Stop Pizza treats and Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be present every Saturday and Sunday in July.

The most necessary elements are:

  • Cash donations.
  • Peanut Butter.
  • Canned meat.
  • Canned fruits and vegetables.
  • Cereals – whole grains and low in sugar.
  • Soup, stews, chili and beans.
  • Milk – canned/powdered.
  • Rice and pasta.

Note: No glass jars, baby food or opened foods.

Organ Stop Pizza is the famous home of the mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ. They have been serving the Valley for over 50 years, drawing hundreds of thousands of customers each year with theatrical performances, complete with dancing cat puppets, disco balls and bubbles. One of only two “pizza and pipes” concepts still operating in the United States, the songs range from classical to Disney favorites to pop and rock hits.

Organ Stop Pizza restaurant hours are 4pm-8:30pm Monday-Thursday, 4pm-9pm Friday, 3:30pm-9pm Saturday, and 3:30pm-8:30pm Sunday. Note: The kitchen closes 30 minutes before the restaurant closes.
