Mirka Federer, 46, was spotted by television cameras on Wednesday night as she watched the all-Italian clash between world number one Jannik Sinner and 2021 runner-up Matteo Berrettini.

She appeared on screen at the start of the second set, apparently next to one of her twin daughters wearing an iconic “RF” cap.

Tim Henman then said in commentary: “I think that was Mirka Federer, wasn’t it? Roger Federer’s wife.”

Andrew Cotter replied: “If it wasn’t, it’s an incredibly impressive lookalike.”

Henman added when the cameras panned to Mirka: “And there you have it.

“She is here with her twins and her twins.”

The Federers have daughters Myla and Charlene, 14, and sons Leo and Lenny, 10.

But tennis fans couldn’t believe their eyes when Mrs Federer appeared without her husband Roger, an eight-time champion.

A third added: “Mirka darling, why are you doing this to yourself?”

And one last excitable user typed: “MIRKA IS IN THE MATCH OMG QUEEN.”

Federer’s long-time agent Tony Godsick was also at Wimbledon today in the royal box alongside Maria Sharapova, Theresa May and Justin Rose.

But according to the Times, Roger is in London and is expected to be at the All England Club tomorrow – the day Andy Murray teams up with his brother Jamie in the men’s doubles.

Federer, 42, played his last match at Wimbledon in 2021 but returned to Centre Court the following year as part of the centenary celebrations.

He then retired in September 2022 in emotional scenes during the Laver Cup at the O2 Arena across town.

And in the recent Amazon Prime Video documentary released about the final 12 days of Federer’s professional career, Mirka broke down in tears as the reality of no longer seeing her man play tennis hit her.

She said: “I will miss watching him play tennis.

“Just because he plays with such grace and in such an incredible way. I think people will regret the same thing.

“I’m so happy to live with him and be with him. I’ll always be there for him. Yes, I’m so happy to have found him in my life.”

“It was an incredible adventure, which went by very, very quickly. We had the best times together on the Tour. I will be there to support Roger.”
