Escaped Tennessee Inmate Arrested in Greenville County

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – A man who law enforcement believes was an escaped Tennessee inmate has been captured.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Billy Fletcher around 8:38 p.m. Thursday in Greenville.

According to the sheriff’s office, someone spotted Fletcher and sent a tip to the State Law Enforcement Division. Authorities located and arrested Fletcher on Sulphur Springs Road.

Fletcher reportedly left a shift at the Carter County Detention Center on June 20 and has been wanted by law enforcement ever since.

The sheriff’s office said Fletcher will be held at the Greenville County Detention Center on a warrant until Carter County authorities can extradite him.
