Manchester City star, who has played 332 games, is offered £55m contract by Saudi club

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has been offered a tempting two-year contract by Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has been linked with a potential exit from the Etihad Stadium this summer, with the Brazil international subject to interest from the Saudi Pro League, alongside Manchester City team-mates Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Matheus Nunes.

Ederson, who has been at Manchester City since his £35million move from Benfica in 2017, has won six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League since arriving in east Manchester.

The goalkeeper missed the Sky Blues’ crucial games against West Ham and Manchester United in May with a facial fracture, with Ederson’s final Manchester City game potentially coming against Tottenham in north London, where the keeper was forced off the pitch through injury.

Ederson started 43 times for Pep Guardiola’s side in the recent 2023/24 campaign and has made 332 appearances since swapping the Portuguese top flight for the Premier League.

The Brazil international has faced competition for the first-choice place at the Etihad Stadium in recent months, amid emerging competition from Germany goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, who recently committed his future to Manchester City by signing a new contract.

Etihad bosses are also prepared to offer Ederson an improved contract with Manchester City, although an offer from Saudi Arabia could tempt the 30-year-old into a costly move to the Middle East this summer.

The Saudi club, which also employs Cristiano Ronaldo, are waiting for the “green light” from Ederson before opening negotiations with Manchester City, as Al-Nassr seek to agree a transfer fee with the Premier League champions.

Manchester City sold two players to the Saudi Pro League last summer, with Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte both moving to the region from the Etihad Stadium for significant transfer fees.

Mahrez has completed a move to Al-Ahli and Laporte has signed for Al-Nassr – the club interested in signing goalkeeper Ederson ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
