3 teen suspects caught after police chase on flat tires

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three teenagers are detained, and a fourth suspect on the loose, after police chased a stolen car Thursday night, ending in a foot chase in Parkway Village.

Officers received a report of a stolen car at 6:40 a.m. in the area of ​​Mendenhall and Fox Plaza. Once they saw the vehicle, they waited for additional units.

But when the driver saw more officers, they changed direction to get away. An officer deployed stop sticks, which flattened multiple tires.

Police trailed the vehicle at low speeds until it stopped at Knightway and Aloha. Four suspects got out and ran on foot, and three were caught, police said.

While officers were chasing the suspects on foot, police say the suspect vehicle struck an unoccupied patrol car.
