Joe Biden’s Mistake Triggers Chain Reaction That Affects Prince Harry, ESPYs, and Italian Prime Minister

President’s delay to NATO summit causes ripple effect involving Prince Harry, the ESPYs and a frustrated Italian prime minister.

President Joe Biden’s delay set off a chain reaction of frustration involving Prince Harry and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, affecting both the ESPY Awards and the NATO summit.

The ESPY Awards ended in chaos, with viewers missing the final award presentation after the show re-aired the Prince Harry segment and abruptly cut off. Those eager to find out who won the best team award at the annual ceremony in Los Angeles were left disappointed.

In a strange turn of events, US network ABC aired footage of Prince Harry receiving the Pat Tillman Service Award again before cutting to a final montage and credits.

Viewers were unaware that the South Carolina Gamecocks had been named the best team. Prince Harry’s acceptance of the award, honoring a fallen soldier and NFL player, had already sparked a furious reaction.

The disruption was attributed to the delay of President Biden’s high-profile press conference at the NATO summit.

Originally scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Biden’s talk was pushed back to 6:30 p.m. and eventually began an hour later. The delay caused ABC’s ESPY coverage to start 30 minutes late and not air live.

Earlier in the day, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni showed signs of frustration when Biden arrived late for the summit, which was scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

The summit finally began at 10:40 a.m., and Biden’s solo press conference was later rescheduled by the White House.

The delay set off a chain of events, culminating in a chaotic end to the ESPY Awards and adding to the general discontent surrounding the day’s events.
