Deadliest Catch’s Matt Bradley Offered Role on Boat After Plea for Family Support

Deadliest Catch’s Matt Bradley Offered Role on Boat After Plea for Family Support

Longtime Deadliest Catch deckhand Matt Bradley was offered the chance to work on The Saga. Many Discovery Channel viewers were confused by the random job, as he was working on The Northwestern.

Matt Bradley had left The Northwestern to manage his business with his wife. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, the Deadliest Catch star had to return to the Bering Sea.

Matt Bradley has been offered a role in The Saga

Matt Bradley was offered a role as a deckhand in Jake Anderson’s The Saga, before the boat was snatched away from him due to a business partner’s mistake. However, he now has The Northwestern in his bio.

He also works in public relations for Sky Vapor, while taking care of his four daughters. Matt does not appear in season 20 of Deadliest Catch, but his childhood friend Edgar Hansen introduced him to crab fishing.

Despite a feud with Jake on The Northwestern, the boat owner eventually offered Matt a job as a deckhand because he needed to earn money to support his family by catching crabs.

Jake and Matt had an explosive feud

As Matt was talking to the Hydro guy and seemed to tell Jake he was slow on The Northwestern, Anderson hit him twice. Captain Edgar Hansen then declared that whoever threw the first punch was finished.

Five years earlier, the tension between the two men had reached a boiling point when Jake claimed that Matt had “strangled” him on the bridge. Matt had replied, “That was ten years ago,” but the captain had given them an ultimatum.

He told them, “Whoever hits next, you’re fired.” And when the incident happened again five years later, Jake was fired, but ended up buying his own boat, The Saga.

Season 20 of #DeadliestCatch premieres Tuesday, June 11 at 8 p.m. on Discovery. You can look for me, but you won’t see me in Season 20…

Deadliest Catch star puts family first

Matt had to put his pride aside when Jake offered him a job on his boat. He wrote on Facebook: “I had accepted a job in drug and alcohol treatment. The job didn’t work out.”

“My vape shops were raided by the state. Northwestern had a full crew. And at the last minute, Jake had an open spot on the Saga. It was really fun to fish with him,” he added.

Matt continued, “And the boat, with all the repairs it’s had, is a very good fishing boat.” Every summer, the deckhand takes time off from crabbing to focus on his business and ride his motorcycle.
