The Escape
Sony Pictures Classics has announced that the adaptation of author Amy Liptrot’s 2016 memoir, directed by Saoirse Ronan, will be released in theaters on October 4, 2024.

Ronan stars as Rona, 29, a recovering alcoholic who returns home to the Orkney Islands and agrees to get sober. Paapa Essiedu, Stephen Dillane and Saskia Reeves star. (Source: Variety)

The vengeful silence
“Drive” and “Only God Forgives” director Nicolas Winding Refn is preparing to return to film with his spy film “The Avenging Silence,” which is set to begin production in September in Korea. The young woman and the sea
Disney has officially announced that the biographical drama “The Young Lady and the Sea” starring Daisy Ridley will be released on the Disney+ service on July 19.

Alien: Romulus
A music video for “Alien: Romulus” has revealed new footage from Fede Álvarez’s upcoming horror film, which will be released on August 16. The clip talks about the filmmaker’s intention to make a “pure horror film” and how they “built every creature for real” in this very hands-on production.

The film is set primarily on an abandoned space station as a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. Starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.
