The inaugural Kazakhstan Grand Prix at Sokol has been officially cancelled and replaced by a second MotoGP round at Misano in September.

Originally scheduled for 2023, the Sokol event suffered delays due to the circuit not being ready in time. Despite efforts to reschedule for July this year, flooding in the area further delayed the race. Hoping to replace the cancelled Indian GP in September, uncertainty from local organisers led MotoGP to cancel the Kazakhstan event altogether.

This is the third cancellation of the season, after India and Argentina, reducing the calendar from 22 to 20 events.

Instead of Kazakhstan, MotoGP has announced a second Grand Prix at Misano. The San Marino GP will take place from September 6-8, followed by another round from September 20-22.
