Findlay Company Helps U.S. Catch Up in Electronic Warfare

A veteran-owned company held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new lab at its Findlay facility.

Airborne Outfitters provides the U.S. government and partner nations with a full line of products and services.

Their website states that their mission is to “provide today’s warfighter with the equipment and materiel needed to win tomorrow’s war.”

President and CEO Jason B. Evatt, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.), spent 26 years in the Air Force and retired as an intelligence officer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

Evatt says the United States is playing catch-up in electronic warfare because the country has focused for decades on countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, which are not very heavy on electronic warfare, while countries like China, Russia and North Korea are.

One of the areas they are working on is improving combat search and rescue capabilities, particularly those elements that operate in a non-GPS environment.

The new lab they broke ground in is called an anechoic chamber, which provides a noise-free environment for them to characterize the antennas.

“We’re trying to lead the charge in 21st “The electronic warfare of the last century and we are putting our troops in the best possible position to achieve it.”
