Promised Land Farm Announces Passing of Longtime Owner Robert Johnson

PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (WTOC) – Promised Land Farms of Port Wentworth announced that one of its longtime owners and operators, Robert Johnson, passed away Saturday.

Johnson, affectionately known as “Uncle Bob,” was a revered elder in his church and a beloved figure in the Savannah community.

Johnson has made numerous appearances on the WTOC website to promote the annual Collard Greens Festival, where he distributes his produce to anyone in need.

His family describes him as a man of the earth and soul, who taught everyone the value of hard work, the importance of family and the courage to stand firm in one’s convictions.

Johnson was also a proud veteran. Robert Johnson was 78 years old. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
