NBA Hall of Fame Coach Sends Heartfelt Message to LeBron James and Bronny James

NBA Hall of Fame Coach Sends Heartfelt Message to LeBron James and Bronny James

George Karl may be known as one of the biggest Lakers agitators on the internet, but even he can’t help but appreciate the fact that LeBron James and Bronny James are on the same team together.

A few days ago, LeBron James sat down for an interview with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin where he talked about his game with his son Bronny James – a topic that clearly stirs emotion in LeBron.

“Imagine being a kid, being born into a situation where your dad was super famous, super rich, and you, the kid, always had this drive to be able to accomplish things on your own,” James said. “I personally don’t know if I could have done that if the roles had been reversed.”

LeBron James then continued his statement by comparing himself to Bronny and explaining how their paths to the NBA were different. LeBron believes Bronny’s path to the NBA makes him even more special – as any father should be.

“When I started growing up, I didn’t have a choice. I literally didn’t have a choice,” James said. “I had to figure it out on my own. My mom, my family, my hometown, my city. Bronny has all the choices in the world. If Bronny wanted to quit right now or never play basketball or just be a player or a leader or do nothing, he could have done it. … People don’t understand how hard it is and the commitment he made to come out of heart surgery less than a year ago, to be able to play in the NBA, that kid, he’s special.”

After the quote went viral on the internet, former Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl responded with a heartfelt message.

“I love it! The kids in the game!!,” Karl said.

LeBron and Bronny James are in uncharted waters. It remains to be seen how life as a father and son on the same team plays out, but they will have George Karl’s support to help them navigate these troubled waters.
