Stop what you’re doing – our first look at Diablo 4’s new Spiritborn class Vessel of Hatred arrives this week

We’ve been waiting a long time for this new game, but we’re finally getting our first look at Spiritborn, the new class coming to the action RPG’s Vessel of Hatred expansion, which is set to release in October. Spiritborn is a major part of Diablo 4; not only is it the game’s first post-launch class, but it’s also not based on any of the series’ known classes.

In other words, it’s a new departure for Diablo, which is exciting for a number of reasons, not least of which is that Diablo 4 has the highest production quality of any game in the series, and certainly compared to the rest of the ARPG genre.

We’ve known for a while that the Spiritborn would be revealed in July. Last month, Blizzard revealed the opening cinematic for Vessel of Hatred during the Xbox Showcase and confirmed an October 8 release. Well, we’re now more than halfway through July, and Blizzard has teased when, exactly, we can expect to see the new class in action.

This Thursday, July 18, we’ll get an in-depth look at the Spiritborn in a livestream. The show kicks off at 11:00 AM PT, 2:00 PM ET, 7:00 PM UKThis special showcase will be hosted by Community Director Adam Fletcher, with a cast of Vessel of Hatred developers.

The list includes game director Brent Gibson, associate narrative designer Eleni Rivera-Colon, art director Nick Chilano, and game designer Bjorn Mikkelson. Blizzard said we can expect a look at gameplay, as well as new perspectives on the Spiritborn’s story and design.

After the reveal, the team will answer some questions from the community watching the match live. If you want to watch the event, you can do so on the official Diablo channels on YouTube, Twitch, and Twitter.

Look for our recap of the stream’s biggest reveals after it concludes.
