DNC War Room: Democrats Hold Press Conference Exposing Trump-Vance 2025 Plan to End Health Care, Gut Social Security, Destroy Unions

Today in Milwaukee, U.S. Senator Cory Booker, AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler, and Biden-Harris 2024 Deputy Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks held a press conference denouncing Donald Trump and J.D. Vance’s extreme Project 2025 agenda to eliminate access to health care, slash Social Security and Medicare, and rig the economy in favor of the ultra-wealthy and big corporations at the expense of working families.

“We are at a crossroads, and it couldn’t be more stark. We have a pro-union president in office right now. We have a party that fights and protects unions. We have a party that protects women’s right to choose. We have a party that has proven that it can lower health care costs, lower prescription drug costs, and expand health coverage,” he added. said U.S. Senator Cory Booker. “It’s a tough choice for Americans: whether or not to have health care, whether or not to have reproductive rights, whether or not to have affordable prescription drugs, whether or not to have a secure retirement. But when it comes to our sacred American democracy, our elections, and the preservation of our identity, we now know that there is a team that believes the only way to support the outcome of this election is to win, and if we lose, we will use every resource and power we have to subvert the ultimate will of the people, and that is unacceptable.”

“If you’re a working person and you’re wondering who to vote for, I think you should ask yourself: Would this 2025 Project program make my life better if it became law? Would it make my life better? (…) You’ve seen the working people, they’re rising up all over this country because they’ve had enough.” said AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler. “I believe that when working people see the facts and see the tough choices that we talked about this morning, we will invest in ourselves. We will invest in our future and we will support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, who have a clear record and who support working people.”

“Donald Trump’s Republican Party will always choose big, greedy, anti-union extremists over the working people of America,” said Quentin Fulks, deputy campaign manager for the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign. “We have seen the greatest economic recovery this nation has ever seen, and it’s all because of the hard work of President Biden. Donald Trump called Milwaukee horrible, but the reality is there is nothing more horrible than his vision for America. There is only one ticket with the most pro-union, pro-worker president this country has ever seen, and that is the Democratic ticket with President Biden and Vice President Harris. And with the support of the American people in November, the Biden-Harris administration will continue to fight for hardworking families for four more years.”

“President Biden is building the economy from the ground up. He’s taking on corporate greed and fighting to cut costs. He took on the biggest and most arrogant special interests in the country, Big Pharma, and lowered the price of insulin to $35 a month for people on Medicare. Now he wants to do the same for all Americans. The contrast is clear.” said Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler. “We need a president who fights for working people, not ultra-billionaires, a president who has already expanded overtime protections, who has banned non-compete agreements, who has consistently fought for and defended workers’ rights, a president who fights to reduce health care costs and who expands the Affordable Care Act. The last thing we need is a president who spent four years in office putting corporations first and the rest of us last, and who comes back to office to repeat the process on steroids.”
