Enchantment ready to use in TBT

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Every year The Enchantment has competed in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the team has come closer to the $1 million prize. The 2024 run in the tournament begins Friday in Houston, Texas.

“I feel like last year, and this year, had a big impact because we got to that round of 16,” coach Kenny Thomas said. “I feel like we have a nice little team this year, with Bryce (Alford) and obviously Scott (Bamforth), I’m going to be loaded with Mathis who’s going to be able to shoot from behind the perimeter. So, I think we’re going to be good.”

Fresh off their preseason game Tuesday against fellow UNM alumni, the Enchantment will open against “Once A Bronco,” a team comprised of Boise State alumni.

“You see teams getting better with better players making good teams,” Bamford said. “So I think our experience will help us in the end, and this is my third year with the team now, so we’re trying to get over this step and get out of the area.”

The Enchantment’s opening game will begin at 2 p.m. MT on Friday.
