National Bass Pro Tour to Stop at Lake Murray for Fishing Competition Next Year

A Major League fishing tournament will be held in the Midlands.

The 2025 Bass Pro Tour, the seventh season of the most competitive professional bass fishing circuit, will host a four-day competition at Lake Murray, the jewel of South Carolina, March 6-9. The Lexington County lake is renowned for its quality fishing.

The 2025 season will feature 65 of the world’s top professional bass anglers chasing big prizes, including a $150,000 top prize at each regular season event, points in the Fishing Clash Angler of the Year race, a qualification to the 2026 REDCREST Championship Contest and the General Tire Heavy Hitters All-Star event.

“We are excited about the launch of the 2025 Bass Pro Tour schedule and what the season will offer our fans: a fun mix of new and familiar destinations, with a variety of fishing types and styles,” Kathy Fennell, the league’s general manager and executive vice president, said in a press release. “The schedule features some of the best bass lakes and rivers in the country… We are grateful to our fans, community partners and Bass Pro Tour anglers as we prepare for an exciting 2025 season.”

The stop at Lake Murray will be the third leg of the seven-stage tour, which begins in January.

The regular season will then culminate with REDCREST in spring 2026.
