Nia Jax Thinks WWE Locker Room Culture Is More Supportive Today Than Before

Nia Jax has been around WWE for a long time and has seen the locker room culture evolve along the way.

SmackDown superstar Nia Jax was recently a guest on Battlefield PodcastWhen asked what the biggest difference she’s noticed in the locker room since returning to the company is, Jax said she thinks there’s a much better support system for talent than before.

“The locker room culture is constantly changing, but I find that we have more support for each other,” Nia Jax said. “I come from a team background, I’ve played sports my whole life, and I’ve always believed that ‘you’re only as strong as your weakest link.’”

“I think before, everyone was more like ‘me, me, me,’ like ‘I have to do this.’ Now, it’s more like we have to come together to support this person, and we all have to come together. I think it’s more about the team and the group effort in the locker room, I think.” (H/T: Combative)

The atmosphere backstage at WWE has clearly improved

Jax also took the opportunity to praise the creative team and producers for being more supportive and encouraging of the team than in the past.

“I also feel like a lot of creatives and producers are more like, ‘Hey, this is what we’re doing, but make sure you realize it, have fun. Enjoy what you’re doing,’” Jax said. “It’s not like, ‘Oh my gosh, I did this, I’m going to have so much repercussions when I’m behind the scenes.’ It’s more like, ‘Try something. If it doesn’t work, figure it out. We’ll figure it out later.’ It’s a different culture and a different atmosphere, and I feel like there’s more support and encouragement.”
