Chinese athletes to travel in style with Terracotta Warrior-inspired luggage

Chinese athletes heading to the Paris Olympics will be taking a piece of history with them. A new suitcase, inspired by the famous Terracotta Warriors, has caught the country’s attention.

This luggage, a blend of tradition and modernity, sports a red and black color palette that recalls the armor of warriors. Its design incorporates elements such as the warriors’ characteristic ties and the golden wheels of ancient chariots. Even the zipper pull is a nod to the past, in the shape of an ancient Chinese shield.

Beyond its aesthetic appeal, this suitcase is built for the rigors of international travel. Made from a durable composite material, it is designed to withstand the bumps and scrapes of air travel. The interior features compartments to separate wet and dry items, ensuring athletes’ belongings stay organized and fresh.

The suitcase, named “Ying Yong,” is a combination of the Chinese words for “hero” and “terracotta warriors,” reflecting the spirit and heritage it embodies. Its design has sparked widespread excitement on social media, with many expressing pride in its unique blend of culture and practicality.

The Chinese Olympic delegation, officially formed on July 13, includes 405 athletes and 311 support staff.
