‘Gremlins: The Wild Bunch’ Announces Season 2 Air Date, New Cast Members

The second season of the animated series Max “Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai” is officially titled “Gremlins: The Savage Generation” and Max let out a wave of exciting screams Gremlins casting news and an official premiere date for the new season today at San Diego Comic-Con.

“Gremlins: The Battle of the Wild” will premiere Thursday, 3rd October, on Max.

The two biggest additions to the cast this season? Simu Liu joins the list of main actors. Even more exciting? Gremlins 2 star John Glover returns to the franchise to lend his voice to a role.

Glover is best known in Gremlins tradition for playing the role of eccentric billionaire Daniel Clamp in the film’s sequel, Gremlins 2: The Next GenerationWhile few details have been shared about the actor’s appearance in season 2, executive producers Tze Chun And Brendan Hay hinted during the panel that audiences might get a glimpse of the Clamp family’s ancestry this season.

Simu Liu will play Chang, a handsome and incredibly charming smuggler, son of one of the most powerful and influential families in San Francisco’s Chinatown. His various escapades have led him to spend a significant amount of time in Alcatraz, so much so that his family believes him dead. After a twist of fate reunites him with Sam, Elle and Gizmo, Chang will attempt to return to Chinatown while acting as the trio’s rogue guide to America.

From Amblin Television and Warner Bros. Animation, “Gremlins: The Wild Bunch” follows Gizmo, Sam and Elle as they travel from their home in Shanghai to San Francisco, bringing even more magic, mystery and Mogwai mayhem. On the trail of a new generation of evil Mogwai, our heroes journey into the heart of the American West, encountering new supernatural creatures and meeting a few mysterious characters along the way.

Series regulars return Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, Izaac Wang, AJ LoCascioAnd Gabrielle Nevaeh will be joined by an impressive list of guests. Also announced during today’s panel, Michael Paul Chan—another former Amblin movie actor who played Data’s father in The Goonies—will make a guest appearance this season alongside a stellar guest voice cast including Ronny Chieng, Keith David, Will Forte, Kelly HuAnd Jimmy O. Yang.

“Gremlins: The Wild Brigade” is produced by Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros. Animation. Steven Spielberg is executive producing, alongside Amblin Television presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey and Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation Studios and Cartoon Network.
