Opposition councillors gathered at the MCD House well on Monday to protest the Rajinder Nagar coaching centre deaths and demand the resignation of Delhi Mayor and Chief Minister over the incident.

BJP and Congress councillors also raised slogans and posters against the AAP-ruled Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

Amid the hubbub, the mayor adjourned the session before it could even begin and left the chamber.

After the adjournment, BJP councilors staged a protest on the fourth floor of the agency headquarters, demanding that the mayor resume the proceedings of the House.
