No murder took place in Madhura Nagar: police

Hyderabad Police has issued a clarification on a rumour of murder in the jurisdiction of Madhura Nagar police station.

The “victim” is in good health and no criminal act has been committed, police said.

In the statement, police said they received a phone call 100 on Thursday morning reporting “a pool of blood, chappals and a blood-stained cloth found in Rahmathnagar”.

“After investigation, it was found that the incident was due to an accident. A young man named Varshith alias Sonu, aged 22, accidentally cut his right foot after stepping on a liquor bottle. He was initially treated at a nearby clinic and later shifted to a private hospital in Ameerpet for further treatment. The rumour of murder gained momentum due to the blood stains found at the scene. However, the police verified the incident and confirmed that there was no foul play. Varshith’s condition is currently stable,” the police said, urging people to refrain from spreading unverified information.
